Self-Care Suggestion: Take an Everything Shower

You know those days when you just feel off—like you need a full-body, mind, and soul refresh? That’s where the Everything Shower comes in. This isn’t just your regular rinse-and-go. This is a ritual, a reset, and a little act of self-care that can work wonders for your energy, mood, and overall well-being.

If you’ve been feeling drained, overwhelmed, or just blah, here’s your sign:
It’s time for an Everything Shower.

What’s an Everything Shower?

It’s exactly what it sounds like—the shower where you do everything. Think: exfoliating, shaving, deep conditioning, and even a little lymphatic drainage massage if you’re feeling fancy. It’s about washing off the stress, the tension, and the weight of the day (or week) and stepping out feeling brand new.

The Everything Shower Routine

If you’re new to this, here’s how I like to do it:

1. Set the Mood

  • Play your favorite worship playlist, podcast, or whatever makes you feel good.

  • Light a candle or dim the lights.

  • Bring in some eucalyptus or essential oils for a spa-like vibe.

2. Dry Brush Before You Get In

  • Dry brushing stimulates lymphatic drainage, boosts circulation, and exfoliates your skin before the shower.

  • Start at your feet and brush upward in long, gentle strokes toward your heart.

  • It only takes a couple of minutes, but trust me—it makes a difference!

3. Rinse & Wash Away the Day

  • Start with a warm rinse to relax your muscles.

  • Use a clean, non-toxic body wash that smells amazing but won’t strip your skin.

  • Take your time—no rushed showers here.

4. Deep Condition Your Hair

  • While your hair soaks up a good deep conditioner, do the rest of your routine.

  • If you have time, throw on a heat cap for extra hydration.

My Favorite Deep Conditioning Treatment: VEGAMOUR HYDR-8 Mask

5. Exfoliate & Shave

  • Use a gentle body scrub to get rid of dead skin cells and leave your skin baby soft.

  • If you shave, apply an oil or non-toxic shaving cream before going in with the razor—it makes all the difference.

6. Lymphatic Drainage Massage

  • While you’re already in self-care mode, take a minute to gently massage your legs, arms, and stomach in upward strokes to help detox your system.

  • Bonus: Use a lymphatic drainage body oil to nourish your skin while you do it. I love using the OSEA Vagus Nerve Bath Oil in the shower for quick massage!

7. Rinse with Cold Water (If You’re Feeling Brave)

  • A quick blast of cold water wakes up your system, boosts circulation, and leaves you feeling energized.

  • It’s optional, but highly recommended!

Your Post-Shower Glow-Up

An Everything Shower isn’t complete without a little post-shower love.

  • Moisturize: Lock in hydration with a non-toxic lotion or oil. Don’t forget to lather up those hands and feet!

  • Haircare: Let your hair air dry or apply a lightweight styling product.

  • Comfy Clothes: Put on your coziest PJs or robe and relax.

My Current Favorite Hair Oil: OUAI Hair Oil

Why This Works

An Everything Shower is about more than just getting clean—it’s about taking time for yourself, resetting, and showing up for your body in a way that feels good. It’s an easy way to remind yourself: You deserve care, too.

So, when life feels chaotic or you just need a little something, turn on the water, lather up, and let the stress rinse away.
