Life Lessons This Month: Faith, Family, and the Power of Gratitude

Life moves fast, and if we’re not careful, we can rush right past the lessons God is teaching us. This month, I took time to pause and reflect on what’s shaping my heart—how I’m learning to be more present in motherhood, deepen my friendships, and cultivate gratitude in marriage. These lessons aren’t just for me; they’re for anyone striving to live intentionally. My hope is that by sharing them, you’ll find encouragement and practical ways to embrace the season you’re in.

Going Deeper in My Walk with God
I’ve always loved digging into Scripture, and this month, The Grove Collective’s study on Ephesians has reignited my passion for deep Bible study. It’s taken me back to my seminary days and my time at Passion Global Institute, where I first developed a hunger for understanding God’s Word on a deeper level. One of my favorite tools right now is the Logos App, which allows me to explore Greek and Hebrew meanings in Scripture. It’s been incredible to see how even small words in the Bible carry profound significance when studied in their original language.

Motherhood: Slowing Down and Letting Go
As a mom, I often feel the pressure to keep everything in order—clean rooms, laundry done, meals planned. But this month, I’ve been learning to slow down and embrace the simple, unplanned moments with my boys. The mess can wait, but childhood doesn’t. Whether it’s sitting on the floor playing with them, taking a longer bedtime snuggle, or just listening without multitasking, I’m seeing how these little moments make the biggest impact.

Friendship: The Power of Intentional Connection
Friendships thrive when we take the time to invest in them. Lately, I’ve been reminded how important it is to ask friends how they’re really doing—not just in passing, but in a way that invites honest, meaningful conversation. One simple way I’ve been doing this is by asking, “How can I pray for you?” It’s amazing how that one question can open doors for deeper connection and remind us that we’re here to lift each other up.

Marriage: Noticing the Small Things
Gratitude is such a powerful force in marriage. This month, I’ve made it a habit to intentionally recognize and verbalize at least two things I appreciate about Paul every day. It’s so easy to take the little things for granted, but when I stop and notice the way he supports me, makes me laugh, or serves our family, it changes my perspective. A grateful heart makes room for more love, and I’m learning just how transformative that can be.

Growth happens when we take time to reflect. I challenge you to take a few moments today and think about what God has been teaching you. Maybe even write it down! And if you’re looking for more encouragement, be sure to sign up for my newsletter, where I share monthly insights, faith-filled encouragement, and practical ways to live intentionally. If this post resonated with you, I’d love for you to share it with a friend who might need the reminder, too!

Here’s to a great year ahead!

xoxo - Amy
